This function only needs implementation if
t
exposed to be a polymorphic variant. Despite what the type reads, this does *not* produce a function after reading; instead it takes the constructor tag (int) before reading and reads the rest of the variantt
afterwards.

Each side of the connection has its own heartbeat config. It sends a heartbeat every
send_every
. If it doesn't receive a heartbeat fortimeout
, it drops the connection. It only checks whethertimeout
has elapsed when it sends heartbeats, so effectivelytimeout
is rounded up to the nearest multiple ofsend_every
.
